Senate Passes Nuclear Energy Acceleration Bill

A version of the act has already passed the House, so the measure is on its way to the president’s desk

This week, the Senate passed the ADVANCE Act, which accelerates actions to increase America’s nuclear energy capacity. The bill allows for quicker permit processing, lowers licensing costs, and provides incentives to encourage nuclear reactor technology. Another version of the bill has already passed the House. The measure now goes to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature to become law.

“In a major victory for our climate and American energy security, the U.S. Senate has passed the ADVANCE Act with overwhelming, bipartisan support,” said Senator Tom Carper of Delaware, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Senator Carper and members of Congress as they craft legislation related to energy and nuclear technology.
  • For the president and his advisors to be discerning as they review the ADVANCE Act before its signing.
